NUTRITIOUS FOOD

How children eat will have a striking impact on their health throughout adolescence and adulthood.Childhood is the period when both body and mind grow faster than ever, Hence nutritious food is essential to their growth. We at Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) understand this and provide nutritious food as per the taste of the children in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. During School time our children have access to food sent in their lunch and as soon as they come back to the orphanage we provide nutritious snacks at the evening. At Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) we ensure that the food given to our children meet proper quality and quantity.
EDUCATION

Education is most important tool for survival which molds them into responsible citizen of our society and country. Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) ensures that all our children have access to schooling through the mainstream Kannada and English medium schools. We are providing them the uniform, shoes, books, lunch box, water bottle etc; Our staff volunteers to drop the children at school and also to pick them up from school back to the centre. Morning we are guiding them to get ready to the school and evening we are helping them to their other activities. Holidays most of the time we are providing them to enjoy their childhood through other activities like games, storytelling and so on apart from their education.
SPECIAL COACHING FOR THE CHILDREN

We are conducting special coaching classes in the evenings for school going children of standard 1 to 10, for both boys and girls apart from orphanage children. All the students can listen and understand the class at not in uniform ways so children need special attention on education out of the school too. We are providing the chance to attend the coaching not only our children but also neighboring poor children also who are weak in studies.
CHILD RIGHTS PROGRAMME

The child labour rate is high in Bangalore slums. Most of the poor communities are depending on household work. The children are also engaged in the works to earn additional income for their families, children are neglected schooling and development. The society recognized this issue and took the appropriate measures among the parents on child rights and convinced them to send their children to schools.
SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Sports and cultural activities are very much needed to the mental and physical growth of the childhood period.We are conducting programme on sports,Talents day and cultural activities were organized to expose their hidden talents. Last year we conducted cultural activities on December 18th 2013. Sports activities were conducted in the month of August 2013.
EXPOSURE VISITS

Children are living in the conditions with school and the centre is not worth for their mental growth. Children need exposures for growing their mind in positive thinking. Our goal is to mould the children as responsible citizen but positive thinking is most essential for it so we are conducting exposure visits to different places like historically noted. Usually we are doing it at Dussehra holidays so children will not lose their classes and it is the festival season. This time the visit was to Visweswariah museum and Nehru planetarium.
COUNSELING

Children were living in worst conditions and they fell in negative thought and practices but the trust want to make them positive so we are providing needed counseling to them in different aspects. It result is they are at the transition stage. Last year we organized counseling on how to respect elders and each others. It was done by Mr.Joseph Bernard as resource person. It helped them to strengthen their transition. Other counseling were organized is on how to be nature friendly on May 14th 2013 with the resource person named Mr.Saravanan C.S . It helped them to understanding the relation between nature and living substances. As a result they became very friendly with other living creatures like birds, animals, and plants.
FESTIVITIES

Every year Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) conducts Christmas Celebration for the children. All most all the children are enjoying the festival through this activity. Every in six months we at Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) conduct sports competition activities for our children and other outside needy children. We are selecting the best performers and distributing prizes to them. Needs Charitable Trust (Sneha Orphanage) also conducts talents day programme in collaboration with other NGOs. It is improving talents and benefiting our children as well as other children.
ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME

Environmental awareness is a very important element which will ensure that our children will become responsible individuals. In order to ensure that our children have a clear understanding of the environmental issues that we are facing now and how these can be prevented, we conduct environment camps in our centre as well as other places. We have conducted Environmental camps at Bannerghatta national park for our children on 15th of October 2013.Awareness was given about health and hygienic, how to keep the surroundings clean etc for the children. We are initiating regular discussions on environmental issues in our centre. The women were educated on the water and air pollution. Activist from environmental support group also come to our centre and give guidance to the children about the need of protecting the environment for healthy living conditions. Tree planting was done in our campus, along the road sides and waste government lands.
